Warning:
If you have not seen this movie,
you are now warned about spoilers.
- In the penny trick scene the front piece
of Dr. Crowe's (Bruce Willis) hair is flopped
over too the side of his face, but when he
is done with the trick his hair is PERFECT!
- Cerasi
- (Spoiler) M. Night
and a producer on the DVD do a good job of
clueing the audience in to the hints, "hows"
and "whys". I still don't understand,
though, how a ghost is able to find himself
in places where he would have had to manipulate
something to get inside (e.g. a door), or
are there gaps in the ghost's conciousness...that
they don't know they floated through a wall?
(DVD) - aegix
- (Spoiler) Also,
Night says that a ghost can't normally interact
with the physical world (i.e. Willis didn't
move a chair to sit down at the restaurant
- the chair is already pulled back), but can
if they have a strong emotional response (e.g.
breaking the glass door at the antique shop).
BUT, what about all the time he spends in
the basement writing and reviewing notes and
listening to the tape recorder? (DVD) - aegix
- Does anyone want a recorder capable to record
dead people's voices? Dr Crowe has one! By
the way, seems dead people are unable to see
each other, but they're able to hear each
other! - Martin
- (Spoiler) When
cole goes into the dead girl's bedroom, you
can see her under the bed before she grabs
his leg! - me
- (Spoiler) (Plot
holes) We are told that 1) ghosts cant interact
with/touch things they weren't associated
with the day they died (willis not moving
chair in restaurant etc) and 2) they don't
know they're dead. How come the little dead
girl is able to grab Cole's leg (interacting
with it essentially) and how did she know
to show the video tape if she doesn't even
know she's dead? Oh and also look carefully
in the background each time willis goes into
his house, his reflection can be seen in a
mirror. - randybob
Commented
Goofs
- When Malcolm is at the dinner with his wife,
he tells her that he doesn't think Cole's
mother is abusing him, but when they are at
the hospital and the doctor says that he wants
Lynn to speak to the social worker, Malcolm
doesn't try to say anything about it. - kyara
- (Spoiler)
Comment: Malcolm
can't talk to the Doctor for the same
reason. At the end of the movie you see
that while he was talking TO his wife,
she clearly couldn't see him. I'd suggest
watching the movie again. - Henry
Hill
- Comment:
OK, I understand what you are saying
about the doctor not being able to
see Malcolm. But what I am asking
is why doesn't Malcolm TRY to speak
to the doctor, like he tried speaking
to his wife? The doctor wouldn't hear
him but at least Malcolm could try.
But I guess they couldn't put that
in the movie? :-P - kyara
- Comment:
Malcolm doesn't try to talk to
the doctor about it Kyara, because
if he did and the doctor and the
mom ignored him it would have
brought forth suspicion that could
have ruined the movie. - recycledsanity
Corrected
Goofs
- In the part of the movie where the main
character is talking to the ghost backstage
and the teacher comes and asks him who he
was talking to he says that he was just rehearsing
his lines but when he actually does go out
on stage he has no lines in the play.
- Correction:
How do you know Cole had no lines? After
all they only showed about 5 seconds of
the play and I doubt that was how long
it lasted. - kyara
- (Spoiler) Ok,
Here's a good one. If Dr. Crowe is considered
to be dead, how did he get a phone call that
he needed to take (according to his secretary
over the speaker phone) to leave Cole in the
room by himself? Ha, someone answer that!!!
- Inspecter Gadget
- Correction: You
hear the speaker phone on his recorder,
and this recording was when he was teaching
that guy who broke into his house at the
beginning of the movie when the guy was
little (the guy was not Cole). He was
not dead then. - yonse
Explained
Goofs - (all
spoilers)
- (Spoiler) Okay,
how does Bruce Willis get on the bus if he
is a "dead person"? Doesn't he have
to pay, and wouldn't both of them think it's
strange no one notices him get on the bus?
I'm thinking the boy could have paid for him,
but that's not very likely. - kyara
- Explanation:
Noone can see him but Cole, so getting
on the bus isn't a problem. - Henry
Hill
- Explanation:
Every one keeps asking about Malcom. Well
after he gets shot he dies and the only
one who can see him is the little boy.
I watched very close, no one ever talks
to Malcom. Only the kid. It's still a
great movie.
- Explanation:
Remember in the movie it was explained
that most of the dead people wouldn't
be or wasn't aware that they were dead
because they were used to living. Malcolm
was one of those kinds of ghost, so when
Malcolm was getting on the bus he was
so used to living that it was a normal
thing for him to do- without him thinking
or noticing anything strange (until the
end of the movie). - Didi
- Explanation:
Well, he (Willis) is a ghost. He could
go through the wall/doors of the bus as
ghosts can. No one, with the exception
of Cole, can see or hear him. - JP
- (Spoiler) Right
before Cole comes home, we see Malcolm and
Cole's mother sitting in the living room.
They don't talk to each other, but it looks
as though they've previously engaged in a
conversation. The one thing I don't understand
is how Malcolm got into the house. Could someone
please explain this? - Nate
- (Spoiler)
Addition: There's
a lot of things to wonder about here,
like how does he get to other places he
has to go? What if he has to buy something?
And doesn't he wonder why no one notices
him? I don't know. Maybe ghost don't?!?
:-P - kyara
- (Spoiler)
Explanation:
Ghosts see what they want to see. He could've
gotten into the house any way he could,
and it wouldn't seem strange to him because
he probably didn't realize anything was
strange. He wouldn't see anything that
he didn't want to see. So he could have
imagined that he got into the house, had
a normal conversation with Cole's mother,
and knocked on the door and had his mother
answer the door even if she didn't, because
he didn't know he was dead, and he thought
he was living, so he could've thought
that that had happened. Cole explains
it to him while he's in the hospital (I
think he's in the hospital.) he says stuff
such as, "They don't know they're
dead," and "They see what they
want to see." - Donica
- (Spoiler)
Explanation:
Bruce is a ghost! He experiences existence
when needed. He feels no lack of continuity
and can thus be where ever he is needed
when ever he is needed. The film is as
much about the boys struggle as it is
about Bruces afterlife. - murky
- (Spoiler) Does
anyone think that it is weird that the little
dude that sees ghost is always cold around
dudes but whenever he is around Bruce Willis
you can never see his breath.
- Explanation:
The reason it doesn't get cold in the
room when the doctors around is because
it only gets cold around ghost who are
angry about something. I heard this somewhere
on the movie or in an interview I don't
remember. - $$$$!!!!!!~~~~$$$$!!!!!
- Explanation:
It gets cold when ghosts are angry/upset,
etc. It isn't cold when Bruce is around,
well because he's not angry or upset.
However at the end, remember it showed
his wife's breath cold when she was asleep
on the couch during the wedding video...
it was because then, he was there, and
he was angry and upset as he learned he
was dead. - JP
- (Spoiler) If Cole
has the miraculous, yet terrifying ability
to unite with those who have passed, why doesn't
he realize that Bruce (Malcolm) is dead? (Basically,
if Cole can seee dead people, and Malcolm,
or Bruce, is dead, why doesn't Cole realize
that Bruce is dead?? - Maxfield
(Anonymous)
- Correction: Well
he can also see real people and maybe
he does know that he is dead and just
doesn't tell him there are a lot of explanations
but I don't want to go through them all.
- Nikki
- Explanation:
He probably does realize he's dead but
also realizes that Malcolm might have
the answers, and doesn't want to scare
him off. - Ignite
- Explanation:
In the movie, Cole says that most dead
people don't even realize that they're
dead and don't believe they're dead when
told.
- Explanation:
Actually, he DOES know he's dead all
along, but he thinks that he can help
him so he doesn't say anything. He
hints though, and at the same time,
helps his with his problems. At the
end he tells him to talk to him wife
while she sleeps, therefore finally
revealing the secret. - bacherz
