- Jim K wonders if there was an error in the
film "Road To Perdition" in its
use of the Lone Ranger. Yes, this was definitely
a badly researched error, or one in which
they didn't care. What the young boy is reading
is a Big Little Book of the Lone Ranger which
began first on radio in 1933 (this was the
first place it appeared - even Fran Striker's
books didn't get published until 1939). I
believe the Big Little Books of the Lone Ranger
weren't published until the sixties, though
that seems odd to me. The film takes place
in 1931. (Theatre) - David
Howell
- At the end of the film, a man standing in
front of a big window gets shot from behind,
splattering blood on the window. A moment
later, the man is shown lying on the floor,
but no blood is on the window at all. (Theatre)

- At the beginning of the movie, Michael Sullivan's
wife tells little Michael that she will help
him with his math homework later. She then
bends down and gives him a kiss on the cheek.
She had on very bright red lipstick, but it
did not leave anything on his cheek. The movie
is set in 1931, so kiss-off lipstick probably
wasn't around yet. (Theatre) - Amy
- There is a scene where Michael Sullivan's
two boys are in their room in bed, and the
younger Michael is reading The Lone Ranger
in bed with a flashlight. He turns the page,
but he really turns several pages and keeps
reading. The Lone Ranger is not a book where
one would skip a few pages. (Theatre) - Amy
- In the scene where Michael Sullivan and
the older man played by Paul Newman are playing
a duet on the piano, the notes played aren't
matched up with what they are hitting. They
do not always hit the keys when the music
plays either. Obviously they did not play
the piano. (Theatre) - Amy
- While driving away from the bad guys with
his son, Tom Hanks' moustache is shaped Adolph
Hitler style, yet when he stops at a diner,
the moustache has grown in length to the corners
of his mouth. The time element is a few hours
at best. - Jake
- (Revealing mistakes) When Michael and his
son are on the way to Chicago in the car,
the camera is on the son's face but in the
back ground through the window you can plainly
see the poles with the huge banks of lights
for night games that you see at a football
or baseball stadium. - Sal
- (Anachronisms) As Tom Hanks and his son
are driving into Chicago, they drive across
the LaSalle Street bridge over the Chicago
river. In the background an elevated train
goes by which is brand new steel coach style.
In 1931 these trains were all brown and most
were wood. - bullfighter
