Debated Goofs - Commented Goofs - Corrected Goofs - Explained Goofs

  • In a human vs. ape battle scene you can see the reflections of rows of studio lights on Thades helmet. - Loaded1215
  • The movie spanned at least three days and nights yet Mark Wahlberg et al don't even have 5 o'clock shadow. - Reddfoxx
  • During the fight between Leo and Thade in the shipwreck, Thade gets the futuristic weapon away from Leo. After Thade is locked behind the bullet-proof glass and begins firing the gun, it magically becomes a stainless Berretta 9mm. - JimGrizz
  • The scene where Mark Walberg swims across the river with the (female) monkey on his back-no pun intended, and he sits down on the rock to rest you can see his breath as if its cold yet the human girl doesn't have goosebumps and you don't see anyone elses breath. - Floyddog
  • (Plot holes) This is the worst movie I've ever seen. There is a scene where some of the apes are sitting down to eat dinner together and the large orangutang and his mate are talking about how they would lose themselves for days in the rain forest when they were young, and he also says he so old now, he can barely climb up a tree. That's great and all but in the next twenty minute or so, the main human characters are running from the ape police and they run through the home of the same ape couple about to perform a mating ritual, and the human frighten them and the old ape who can barely climb up a tree jumps up fifty feet into the air onto a chandelier. AH! how does that happen. I find that weird error so amusing, I hope you do too. (Theatre) - RabbitPoop

Debated Goofs

  • This is more of a plot hole, somehwhere in the beginning you see an ape that has a glass with perfect cube ice in it, where exactly did he get the ice from? I didn't see any freezers, I don't think they were that technology advanced yet. - Ryan
    • Correction: First off: Ryan is stupid. When he travels through time and goes to the planet of the apes the spacecraft he is in clearly shows that he is goin FORWARD into time. Therefore there would be freezers and much more. So you people need to either get a life, or spend some more time of your worthless lives and watch these movies a little more before you write a critique on them and get your story straight. - Dickle
      • Comment: Just because they went forward in time doesn't mean there would be "freezers and a lot more". If you noticed they did not have cars, phones, even radios!! What would make you think they had freezers? In fact, I remember the apes still using torches for light. - plf

Explained Goofs

  • If the apes and humans came from the wreck of the space station, were did the horses come from? - Dirty Harry
    • Explanation: Here is why they had horses. Wahlberg goes through the storm and arrives in prehistoric EARTH. Where his mothership has already landed. The storm alters the times when both ships crash. When he leaves and lands on the Lincoln Memorial he has landed on the same planet he left far into the future, a future that he and his crew altered thousand of years before. - Jack
  • (Spoiler) How was there a statue of Thaid, if he goes back in time. If he went back in time, the whole movie would not have happened yet. (VHS) - planetoftheapeswasdumb
    • Explanation: Ok I can explain this. He didn't go back in time, he went into the future of the Planet of the Apes Earth. Thus the cars, buildings, helicoptors and the statue that is in memory of Thaid. Why his computer on the ship was counting the years back down, possibly the electrical storm is very unstable and can cause such a thing. I'm sure theres no gaurantee that just flying back thru the storm is going to work, he even says it in the movie that "I have to try..." Think of Back to the Future Part 2 when they go back into the future of Biff's world. - Floyddog
