- When Iñigo is fighting the man in
black (wesly) on the cliff, Iñigo does
a flip off the cliff and if you look at the
ground he lands on you can see a mat covered
in dirt. - doodie
- During the swordfight on the cliffs of insanity,
Iñigo's sword is thrown to the lower
terrain, so he jumps to a pole and swings
down to get it. The man in black, showing
off of course, flings his sword down, which
sticks in a patch of grass, and then jumps
to the pole himself and does a few flips and
then lands...quite a few feet from the sword.
It cuts, and the next time it shows him, he's
standing right next to the sword, which he
suavely pulls from the ground. Very obvious
that he's a few feet from where he landed.

- When Westley and Buttercup are walking through
the fire swamp, a fire burst catches Buttercup's
dress on fire. If you'll look closely, you'll
notice that the fire doesn't go anywhere near
her dress, and a stage hand lights the dress
from the ground. - heavenly

- The pill that Miracle Max gives Iñigo
and Fezzik is clearly to big for Westley to
swallow. But when the 3 of them are behind
the castle wall in front of the gate, Iñigo
pops in the pill, the camera pans to Fezzik,
then Westley wakes up. The pill is not in
his mouth, he didn't have time to chew it,
and there is no possible way that Cary Elwes
(the guy that plays Westley) could've swallowed
the pill whole! - heavenly

- When Iñigo introduces himself to
the six-fingered man, the six-fingered man
runs, up until Iñigo catches him, the
six-fingered man has six fingers on his right
glove. When the six-fingered man flings the
knife at Iñigo, from then on, the man
has five fingers on his right hand! - heavenly
sax
- When Iñigo is wheeling Fezzik in
the wheelbarrow, Westley is hanging on Iñigo
because his legs don't work. However, you
can clearly see that in the shots where Iñigo
asks Westley if he should light Fezzik, Westley
is moving his legs! - heavenly
sax
- When Fezzik knocks the albino unconscious,
they are by two trees. When Fezzik and Iñigo
find the Pit of Despair and start to go in,
the albino and his barrel are in the middle
of an open area! - heavenly
sax
- In the scene where Iñigo is standing
at the edge of the cliff waiting for Westley(the
man in black) to climb to the top, Westley's
distance from the top of the cliff changes.
When the camera is looking down on Westley,
he's pretty far down. When the camera is looking
up towards Iñigo, Westley is almost
at the top. This keeps going on for a while,
and because Westley doesn't move until Iñigo
gives him the rope, this has to be a goof.
- heavenly
sax
- When Westley, Iñigo, and Fezzik are
along the castle wall Iñigo says "I'll
say" but his lips don't move. - Kbaby
- When Iñigo and Fezzik here Westley
screaming from the pit of despair, Iñigo
explains to Fezzik that Westley's true love
is marrying another tonight. Somebody please
tell me where in the movie Westley mentioned
anything about Buttercup to Iñigo!

- The R.O.U.S. creatures (Rodents Of Unusual
Size) have limbs that work strangely like
those of a costumed human. - Vince
- In the scene where Fezzik is trying to bring
Iñigo out of his drunkenness. After
he stops dunking his head in the water, the
next scene Iñigo's head goes from completely
wet, to slightly wet to completely wet to
slightly wet, to completely wet as he runs
out the door. It's funny to watch. (DVD/VHS)
- Goo
- In the beginning when Westly (the man in
black) climbs up the rope he is very far away
from the actual rocks, but when Fizzini cuts
the rope Westly is able to grab the rocks.
(DVD) - Danette
- The video jacket my video came in has two
goofs in the movie description. It says, 'Long
ago and far away, there lived the beautiful
Buttercup (Robin Wright: Forrest Gump) and
her "one true love" Wesley (Cary
Elwes: Men in tights).'....... In the credits,
it clearly lists Cary Elwes as Westley, not
Wesley. It must be a new movie description
on my copy because the copyright date for
The Princess Bride is 1987, and the copyright
date for Men In Tights is 1993 (not filmed
yet). (VHS) - Basia15
- In the movie "The Princess Bride,"
when Viccini, Iñigo, and Fezzik are
talking to Buttercup while she is on her horse,
Iñigo appears to resemble a cardboard
cut out. He doesn't move! The only thing that
moves are his eyes (he only blinks once).
Maybe this was added in post production to
keep people from noticing he didn't show up
for filming? - treehugger36
- When Westley is in the Pit of Despair and
he is being healed by the Albino, the blood
on his left shoulder goes from lots of blood,
a little bit of blood, then back to lots of
blood again! (DVD) - bigfat
Debated
Goofs
- When Iñigo
(Mandy Patinkin) is going after the six-fingered
man with his sword in the room full of food
saying "Hello my name is Iñigo
Montoya, you killed my father prepare to die."
After he says it a few times the six-fingered
man screams at him "Stop say that!!"
shouldn't it be "saying"? - kirby
- Correction:
The six fingered man does say "saying"
but you have to listen very closely. -
Lisa
- Comment:
Listen up Lisa! I watched that part
over and over again, and the six fingered
man clearly says "stop say that"!!!!
- Cerasi
- Comment:
The six fingered man clearly says
"stop say that". Maybe you
should get your ears cleaned out,
Lisa. - girlygirl
- Comment:
Lisa, you are right. He does say stop
"saying" that! They need
to check into who sold them their
VHS cuts... and also... maybe a little
lip reading or English/British dialogue
coaching!
- Comment:
Okay people they are both right in
the VHS version he says "stop
say that" that would be the audio
departments fault. But on the DVD
they clear it up and he says "stop
saying that" so instead of fighting
lets just shake hands and watch the
movie. - ash
Commented
Goofs
- When Wesley and Buttercup are in the Fire
Swamp discussing the perils of the swamp,
Buttercup asks Wesley about the ROUS' and
Wesley says he doesn't believe they exist.
The scene right before this line Wesley watches
a ROUS walk across in front of them. - kelnmike
- Comment: I
think when Wesley says that he doens't
believe in ROUS's he says that to make
Buttercup feel a little safer. She's obviously
scared. I don't think this was a goof
at all. - mbmott21
Corrected
Goofs
- In the scene where Prince Humperdink is
sniffing the iocain powder he detects what
it is by smelling it but clearly in the scene
before Westley says it's odorless! (DVD) -
chels
- Correction:
The reason Humperdink is sniffing the
iocane powder is to see if it has a scent.
When he notices there is no scent he knows
that it's Iocane powder. (And remember
he's the one who hired Vizzini in the
first place, so he might by some chance
have an idea of what Vizzini would use).
(VHS) - orly9
- Comment:
Umm, sorry, but even though Humperdink
hired Vizzini, it was Westley who
brought the iocane powder. - blusorceress
