- When Im-Ho-Tep attempts to revive Anck-Su-Namun
a second time, you can clearly see the Anck-Su-Namun's
mummy breathing. - pat
- Winston the aging WWI pilot, talks about
the good old days and being the last of his
squadron. With the movie setting being 1925
and WWI ending in 1918, Winston would have
been in his 60s or 70s during the war. This
would make him way too old for military service.
- pat
- In the movie when they are returning to
the ancient city Benny is riding a horse but
when he is up close fighting with Brendan
Fraser's character he is riding a camel. -
Shawna
- At the start of the movie, they show what
is suppose to be the ancient city of Thebes.
But the city shows the sphinx and the Pyramids
of Giza which is near the ancient city of
Memphis near Cairo. Thebes is located in the
lower Nile near present day Luxor. - pat
- When the guy's on fire, he is obviously
wearing a flame-retardant mask. - David
- When the fat guy has a bug under his skin
he runs straight into a wall but when he does,
the wall moves a bit to cusion the impact.
- Nicko
- In "The Mummy" when Rick, Evelyn,
Jonathan, and the Warded walk into the first
room when they at Hamumnaptra u see that the
Warden is picking up his things and in the
next shot u see him picking up his things
again. - SheDevil2001
- When the drinks turn to blood, we get a
shot of the "water" fountain. It
is now spouting "blood." If you
look toward the edges of the fountain, you
can see the blood bubbling. Due to my past
experiences with blood gathering in one place
(and a little science class), I know that
blood DOES NOT bubble!! - heavenly
sax
- When the guy guarding the woman gets his
life "sucked", you see a shadow
of him in midair on the wall. When he turns
into a skeleton, he's got no hair (in the
shadow). Then, when you see the skeleton on
the floor, he's got hair again! - heavenly
sax
- When our hero is fighting the personal mummy
guards with the weapons at the end of the
film, he gets knocked off balance and falls
down some stairs SIDEWAYS (head and feet facing
each side of the stairs)! But when the camera
cuts to another shot, he is falling on his
back FACING the mummies (feet facing the foot
of the stairs)! - heavenly
sax
- At the end of the movie when Evelyn first
opens the "book of the living,"
she opens it upside down. You can tell because
the "binding clips" aren't facing
the camera. Then, after a couple of shots,
she starts to read it, and the "binding
clips" are facing the camera. - heavenly
sax
- When O'Connel, Evelyn, Jonathan, and the
prison warden enter the first cave, and Evelyn
says "then there was...light!",
you can see big circles of light on the floor
of the cave... ceiling lights! - heavenly
sax
- When the heroes go into the museum and find
the librarian boss with the Magi leader, O'Connel
and two other guys draw there guns, and you
see Jonathan holding a gun. Then, in the next
shot, Jonathan draws his gun again! Then,
for the rest of the time the guns are up,
Jonathan's hands change position on the gun
in every other shot. - heavenly
sax
- When --- stabs --- with a LONG sword at
the end of the movie, you can see that the
person with the sword shoved it in as far
as he could, and the two people are almost
directly face to face, which means that the
sword should have gone completely through
and punched out the back (note- the stomach
and back were not shown; this is just a logic
blooper, not a visual one!). But when the
stabbed person backs away and turns to the
side, the back is totally clean, while the
stomach is covered by the person's hands.
- heavenly
sax
- Near the end of the movie, when the scarab
dig's into ---'s hand, it sheds out of its
shell before entering, and the shell stays
on ---'s hand. But when --- raises his hand
and turns it towards the camera, the shell
magically disappears! - heavenly
sax
- This may not be a real "flub",
but rather a scene that I have always questioned.
In the scene where Im-Ho-Tep is going to Hamunaptra
to resurrect Anuk-su-namun, the narrator tell
us Im-Ho-Tep broke into her crypt and stole
her body. Then, while Im-Ho-Tep is performing
the ritual over her body, we hear that her
vital organs had been removed. When you look
at Anuk-su-namun's body, she is covered in
a shroud-like dress, but appears not to have
been mummified at all (i.e. no organ removal
incisions and no wrappings covering her).
Later, when Im-Ho-Tep tries to resurrect her
again, she is completely covered in wrappings.
(VHS) - Chris
- In the scene where Im-Ho-Tep is attempting
to resurrect Anuk-su-namun a second time,
he is interrupted by Jonathan at virtually
the same place where he was interrupted the
first time he tried to resurrect her. When
Im-Ho-Tep was interrupted the first time,
Anuk-su-namun's soul went straight back to
the underworld. Why then, since he is interrupted
at virtually the same point in the ritual,
doesn't her soul depart back to the underworld
again instead of remaining? (VHS) - Chris
- In one of the firefights as the bullets
fly, one of the townspeople does a dramatic
spin as he is shot. Then seconds later the
same guys spins and is shot again. I guess
he died so well, they used it twice. - Paully
- In the scene where Rick, Odeth, and Jonathan
escape Im-Ho-Tep's slaves by going down a
manhole, Rick opens the manhole cover and
grabs Jonathan. You hear Jonathan scream like
he has dropped a long way down the hole. However,
when you see the manhole a few seconds later,
there appears to be either Jonathan's arm
or some kind of scarf/sheet type of apparatus
sticking out. (VHS) - Chris
- After Eve wakes of Im-Ho-Tep and the bugs
fly in everyone runs into the temple. Why
don't any of the bugs follow them? - mandie
- When Rick is fighting the mummy guards,
and he falls down the stairs and drops his
sword.....watch how close the sworde comes
to stabbing him in the head...not really a
goof but it's rare. - Petey
- In The Mummy, they turn the key the same
way to unlock and lock Imhotep's sarchophagus.
(VHS) - Jenna
- (Revealing mistakes) During the boat scene,
when O'Connell jumps into the water, the gun
bag floats, and it is too thin to have floaty
stuff in it! - Roberto
Commented
Goofs
- During the firefight on the steamer. The
American fires 11 shots from his six-shooter
at the burning Arab. - pat
- Comment: About
the scene in The Mummy where one guy fires
11 (?) rounds from a six-shooter. I have
noticed that in many bad/cheesy movies
that involve guns, people only seem to
run out of ammunition when the story calls
for it. Anyone who has seen Eraser
will know quite what I'm talking about.
- Scott
F.
- At the beginning of the movie, after they
find the mummy from the ceiling, Evelyn says
that they threw scarabs in the sarcophagus
with the mummy and ate him alive "very
slowly", but when the scarabs come out
of the ground and attacked that one guy who
fell, they ate him in about 10 seconds. Even
if they only put in a few with the mummy,
they'd eat him in probably about 10 minutes,
which isn't very slow. - Karoto
- Comment: Karoto,
if you were being eaten alive by several
insects crawling through your body and
causing an immense amount of pain you
would probably think 10 minutes was an
eternity. - mandie
- Karoto stated that
Evelyn said the scarabs ate slowly
although she her self wasn't being
eated, so your comment does not make
any sense (to me at least).
- In the end of the movie, after Imhotep becomes
a mortal, Rick stabs him in the chest. Imhotep
quickly covers it up, but you don't see any
blood. - Lori
- Comment: Stephen
Sommers left mostly all the blood out
of the movie on purpous. If you notice,
the only blood in the movie and the sequel
are a few scratches. - MelCat
- Scarab bugs do not eat people. - The
Big J
- Comment: Duh
scarabs don't exist either they are actually
Dung Beetles and no dung beetles do not
eat people but it is an Egyptian myth
that scarabs were man eating ( inside
out) bugs. - Nikki
Corrected
Goofs
- About two-thirds of the way through, the
frightfully English archaeologist, played
by John Hannah has a flesh-eating scarab beetle
burrow up his arm. The versatile American
hero rips Hannah's shirt sleeve off and cuts
out the bug with a penknife. In the very next
scene, despite the fact that the cast are
supposedly entombed beneath the Egyptian sands,
Hannah has a nice new shirt on. Frightfully
odd, don't you think? - ickidee
- Correction:
He didn't actually rip the material of
the shirt, the tore the shirt open, if
you look carefully at Jonathan as they
are on top of the stairs as the enter
the treasure chamber he only has one button
done up because the rest came off when
Rick tore it open. - neffertiti703
- When the American looses his glasses he
can't see 5 feet in front of him but once
the mummy has taken his eyes the mummy sees
perfect and does not need glasses. - esmarelda
- Correction:
I realize the Mummy sees perfectly after
he rips out the guy's eyes who can't see
hardly at all, but I when he rips out
his tongue he doesn't speak exactly like
him, and when he takes the other body
parts from the other men, he doesn't end
up looking exactly like him, so I think
the Mummy just needed eyes-any eyes, whether
they were nearsighted or not. - kyara
- The Egyptians used 4 canopic jars. (Jars
to hold dead peoples organs). The lids look
like the 4 sons of Horis, man, baboon, jackel
and hawk. Yet in The Mummy they put 5, a leopard.
But it appeared broken the entire time of
the movie. - Cerasi
- Addition: Another thing about the canopic
jars: they hold some of the VITAL ORGANS
of the mummy! Wasn't Im-Ho-Tep buried
ALIVE!? - Sub-Zero
- Correction:
Somebody says on this board that the
jars contained Im-Ho-Tep's organs
(?), but in the beginning of the movie
they clearly say that those jars contained
Anck-su-namum's. - Katherine
- When Rick cuts the scarab out of John's
arm, notice he cuts it out of his shoulder.
In the next scene, John has his arm bandaged,
not his shoulder, where he was actually cut.
- WhiteFire
- Correction:
Actually, the part in the movie when Rick
cuts the scarab out of Jonathan's arm
and in the next scene the bandage is on
his wrist, that bandage had nothing to
do with the movie. He fell down the stairs
at some time during the making of the
movie and he either sprained or broke
his wrist, so really, that didn't have
anything to do with that scene. - Nanner
- Nevertheless;
the goof remains.
- Correction:
The bandage on Jonathan's wrist
is where the bug ENTERED his arm.
The bug had to get in some how
and since Jonathan was holding
the bug in his hand, it could
have entered through his hand,
wrist or lower arm. - Blanket
- In the scene where Evelyn is studying up
on the Brimridge Scholars on the boat and
keeps fussing over her being kissed, she finally
puts up the book in one scene and in the next
scene she is brushing her hair and drops the
book. A book she already put up! - Mememe
- Correction:
If you watch in slow motion, you see that
she raises her arm to close the window;
she does not put the book up. - Craig
- Rick and Evelyn are on the boat and Rick
is loading his gun and keeps getting shot
at and at one point Evelyn has to pull him
toward her b/c of the bullets. This can't
happen b/c they are standing on the edge of
the boat and no one can shoot them unless
they are not on the boat to begin with...
- Mememe
- Correction:
Those bullets are coming from inside the
cabin that Rick is backed against, not
from in front of them. (DVD) - rousey
- When the heroes are in the plane going to
the temple in the end of the movie, O'Connel
tells Winston to pedal faster. Winston looks
in the rear view mirror, and there are sand
dunes in front of the plane "as far as
the eye can see." Then Winston says hang
on, and a second later, he dives the plane
over a cliff that was nowhere near them!!
- heavenly
sax
- Correction:
Heaveanly sax, you can't see a cliff that
is in front of you in the rear-view mirror.
- mandie
- When O'Connel and Jonathan find the gold
book, O'Connel strikes a stick of dynamite
and says "time to close the door!"
While he is saying this and throwing the dynamite,
Jonathan is standing right next to him. Then,
O'Connel turns to duck behind a statue when
the camera cuts to a different angle, and
Jonathan is already well behind the statue!
- heavenly
sax
- Correction: This
scene takes place between O'Connell and
the Medgi - not Jonathan. O'Connell lights
the match on the Medgi's scruffy face,
lights the dynamite, and then says "Time
to close the door." So Jonathan would
already be behind the statue, since he
wasn't the one O'Connell was taking too.
- Macrae
- When Jonathan recites the inscription on
the cover of the gold book in the end of the
movie, he gains control of the mummy guards.
Im-Ho-Tep twirls around and says something
in Egyptian, and the subtitles say, "DESTROY
HIM!!". He says this a couple of times,
and then the subtitles say "I COMMAND
YOU TO DESTROY HIM!!", but Im-Ho-Tep
says the exact same thing in Egyptian that
he did before! - heavenly
sax
- Correction: Actually,
he does change what he says. In Ancient
Egyptian, the slightest sound can change
a sentence or word entirely, for example
there are four different ways to say the
sound 'a'. To say DESTROY THEM!, Imhotep
says Ahim Yu Setna, but to say I command
you to destroy them he says Ahim Yu Setana.
- Bulma
- Jonathan and Rick are in the bar and they
spit out their drinks because the drinks supposedly
turned into blood. That would never have happened
because the WATER turned into blood and I
don't think they were drinking water in a
bar. - mandie
- Correction: When
Jonathan and Rick are in the bar and all
the water turns into blood, there would
be water in the beer or wine that they
were drinking so it would too turn to
blood! - Joanna
- If all the liquids HAD turned into blood
then how could that guy order bourbon while
he was guarding Eve. - mandie
- Correction:
It says in the bible AND in the movie
that not everything turned to blood....only
water. That was one of the 10 plagues.
