• In the scene where she is in her apartment she puts on the music and it goes off without her shutting it off! - natfatrat

• The part towards the end where Cheryl is doing her baton act she winks over her right shoulder first but then they get a different shot and she's turning from her left and she winks back over her right shoulder. - Crystal

• When Grace Hart (Sandra Bullock) is "gliding" with Victor, there are a bunch of people across the street that are watching the filming of the movie. - Alyssa

• Near the end of the movie where the girl on stage has the batons with fire on the ends, after she finishes she holds them up and the fire is out and the ends are black and then when she runs backstage it shows them again and the ends are white again. - John

• When the pagent winner is walking the runway she has a full bouquet of red roses. Gracie tries to get the bomb and is beaten with the roses until just stems are left. In the next shot the winner has red roses again. - robin

• When Gracie is in the dressing room after she sneaks out with "HIM" the night before , she has a conversation with the other girls about the "man who visited Gracie". The other agents watching saw the conversation, yet Gracie is not wearing the American flag pin which has the spy cam in it. - da two girls

• When Victor and Gracie are walking through the sidewalk, talking, you can see all the extras walk past them about three times each. esp one guy - I think he's in a green shirt or something - but he walks in the opposite direction of them, then tries to make their way around them, then walks in the opposite way again. - chun li

• When all the girls are dancing at the beginning of the pageant (right before the top 10), Gracie has a LOT of glitter in her hair. Then she immediately changes and goes on-stage for her talent, and the glitter's suddenly gone. How would she have time to wash the glitter out and dry her hair in just minutes? (VHS) - hope

• Mrs. Morningside (Candice Burgen) was suppose to announce the top 10, but notice that she only announces I think 5 or 6 names and states that these ladies are the top 10. - cole812

• In the opening sequence, Gracie yells "in Russian" for the bad guy to put his hands up. It's nothing but gibberish. Phonetically, "Ah-ru-key Vi-yerk!" is "Raise your hands up" In the director's comment track, she admits they just used gibberish. (Sorry, that's almost the bulk of my Russian translation skills!) • About 1 and a half hours into the film, in the scene where Michael Caine is teaching Sandra Bullock to walk down the stairs which are on the stage, she starts to take off her guns, in one shot you see her scarf slip down her arm, it then cuts to Michael for a split second and then back to Sandra and the scarf is neatly back on her shoulder without her even touching it. - Rose Perez

• (Factual errors) The baton twirling in the movie originally does a solo with one non-fire baton. The routine is childish and stupid. Then, when she gets fire batons, she magically knows how to twirl like a pro! Being a baton twirling coach for over 9 years, I can a sure you that if she had known how to twirl like she did with the fire, the solo would have been completely different (it actually upset me that they showed her doing that ridiculous routine at first, it gave baton twirling a bad rap!) - Jamie

• (Revealing mistakes) Did anyone ever notice that every hotel room door in this movie is 103? - lieno

• (Continuity) In the scene when Gracie is first telling Eric (FBI Guy) about how she figured out The Citizen letter, she has a flower pinned on her jacket, in the scene before that, at the FBI bar there's no flower, this was caused by a deleted scene. - lieno

• (Factual errors) When Gracie Hart goes to talk to Eric Matthews while he is in the pool, The depth of the water reads: "3 feet / 9 meters " It should read "9 feet / 3 meters" or 3 feet / 1 meter". - Gratiae

Debated Goofs

• In the scene where she first gets there and they are in there and her ear piece isn't working and she yells you can see Miss Texas behind her give the sign she is praying and then in a few it cuts to her and she does it again. - mindi
  • Correction: The first time, she makes the cross-sign because she was scared about Sandra's shout. The second time, she makes the sign because she follows Sandra's example en then she is REALLY praying. - Bart
    • Correction: No, she doesn't do it the first time because of when Gracie shouted. The first one was correct, I'm not catholic, but you would think that if she meant to cross herself when Gracie shouted "Jesus Christ!", she would've done it immediately after she shouted, but Miss Texas crossed herself in the background when Gracie explains why she shouted what she did, and begins to pray...so they did show a repeat of Miss Texas crossing herself, so the first blooper was correct. - Donica
  • Explanation: Since I am Catholic I might be able to clear this crossing thing up. In all actuality, it is probably an editing error, yes, but it may not be. When praying in the Catholic church you begin by crossing yourself and then again when you are finished (noting that there is no time limit per prayer) so Miss Texas could have crossed herself, said a quick Hail Mary, and then crossed herself again. - justsomeguy

• In the first part of the movie when Sandra Bullock is a little girl, her eyes are much lighter than they are when she's older. - kyara
  • Comment: You know, some people's eye color changes as they age. Also, do you want them to find an actress that's not very good just to be completely accurate? - Cat

• When Victor is packing up to leave he grabs some toilet paper in his right hand. He starts walking and when the camera comes back to him he has it in his left hand with some other stuff. - Wolf Man
  • Comment: When Victor is packing, he could have easily moved things in his other hand when they had a scene change, so its not really a goof, and I mean, come on, haven't you ever done something and then changed your hands or position? I have... - Mandie

• When it is time for beer and pizza, the baton twirling girl takes a piece and has a bite of it. There is a brief moment of conversation and they cut to another shot showing all the girls, baton twirler included (with no pizza piece) going for a piece of the pie. - da two girls
  • Comment: When Gracie brought the pizza in the gym and Cheryl had a piece and then it "dissappeared" so she got a new piece -- No. New York (or california) was standing behind Cheryl and Cheryl passed her piece back, then got her self a new piece. (DVD) - Paige

  • Comment: When Gracie brings the pizza to Cheryl, she doesn't say it's a cheese pizza, she says it's a cheesy pizza. A cheesy pizza can have other toppings, so long as it has a lot of cheese. - ThaPauly

• Ms. Morningside (Candice Bergen) corrects Grace (Sandra Bullock) that it is not a beauty pageant, it is a scholarship program. Yet, later on, she says, "If I ran my PAGEANT like this..." - Sammy
  • Correction: At the end, Sandra Bullock corrects Candice Bergman's calling it a Beauty Pagent. Sorry Sammy, she corrected it, it's already part of the movie. - Snoffsinger

• When Gracie and Victor are "gliding" (you know, when he's trying to teach her to be a lady to no avail?) the sidewalk across the street is full of people not moving, not rushing off somewhere, but mysteriously they are watching Gracie and Victor saunter down the street. I wasn't aware they were that well known in such a big city. Hmmm... - Marian
  • Comment: When Victor is teaching Gracie to glide, the people could just be watching a "weird" person across the street because they were making a big scene. - gurl
    • Correction: The crowd that is watching Sandra Bullock "glide" is huge. If they were really a bunch of extras, why wouldn't there be that big of a crowd on every other corner...there must have been 500 people on that corner alone. I've been to NY, and I've never seen that many people on any one corner during Rush Hour (or lunch hour, as it was here, I think). They were obviously watching the filming, because the crowd was huge, and there wasn't that big of a crowd anywhere else on the street where they were walking. - Donica

• (Continuity) In the "One In A Million" sequence, Gracie's hair, as well as Miss Ohio and Miss Nebraska, their hairdo was big and straight but by the time the final 5 were announced, Gracie's hair was up and curly, same as Ohio's, and Nebraska's was now wavy and teased high! How on earth could they managed to change hairdos so quickly? (Theatre) - ben
  • Correction: When New Jersey and Nebraska's hair changes (and any one else's for that matter) it is because there is quite some time between each showing of the contestants. During the Miss America show, they have singers and other acts to fill in the time needed for the women to change clothes and prepare for their next stage appearance. And trust me, changing one's hair style even in that short amount of time is possible. You must be looking at it as if the movie were filmed in real time. If that were so, then you could easily say the Pageant was only a few minutes long! The storyline occurs over a few days, not just over the 190 minutes of the movie. - Aine

• Natfatrat stalked about Gracie in the scene where she is in her apartment she puts on the music and it goes off without her shutting it off-- well, if u didn't notice, it kinda faded out while that sad crap faded in. (DVD) - paige
  • Explanation: That's typical in movies. In movies, when people are in (for example) a disco dancing and they start talking the music fades down, so that their voices can be heard. It is intentional, therefore not a goof.
