• The little crown that the alien throws out of the taxi doesn't land on the seat cover, but as jay says "he's in a cab," the crown is on the cover. - Steven

• In the scene near the end where the alien ship crashes, the wall of dust comes and you can see dirt flying around J & K. But the next shot shows Will Smith motioning Kay to move forward, and the dust just now reaches them! OOPSIES! (VHS) - gregory

• Did anybody notice that everytime they showed the bugs bug truck that the bug on top of the bug truck was facing a different direction? - Todd

Debated Goofs

• In the first scene when we see Will Smith, he is chasing a criminal, and he yells "LAPD!", but later he says he's from the NYPD.
  • Correction: He says NYPD but it's so fast it's hard to hear. - Ash
    • Correction: Ash is completely wrong. He says LAPD and it doesn't even sound like NYPD so maybe she should get a hearing aid and her quote should be removed. That's all I gotta say about that. Have a nice day.
      • Comment: Look mysterious mean person, Will Smith says NYPD!! So why don't you get a hearing aid and your quote removed! "That's all I gotta say about that. Have a bad day!" - Ava
  • Correction: Will Smith clearly says NYPD, without a shadow of a doubt. - Bob

• When Will Smith is chasing the alien and starts running to the top of the building, in the first shot he is running upstairs and clockwise, but in the next shot he is running upstairs and counter-clockwise. I'm amazed that nobody has submitted this goof yet. (VHS) - Bart

Corrected Goofs

• When Kay and Jay are driving the car along the roof of the tunnel, Will Smith's ankles are white.
  • Correction: Yo, Will smiths ankles are not white. They are white socks. Look at it logically, why would his ankles be white, even accidentally, he is a black man. Watch the movie again and go visit an eye doctor. - tallteen2
    • Correction: No. Will Smith's ankles ARE white. It's because that was his stunt double in that scene. I guess Will Smith is too afraid to fall upside down. - stevo

• In the scene when Will Smith is chasing the alien he is wearing his police badge on his left side, magically about two seconds later it is on the right side. - Jamie S H
  • Correction: Smith's badge is hanging around his neck with a long necklace, so that explains why his badge is moving from side to side. - Bart

Explained Goofs

• In the last fight seen with the Bug gets shot and explodes, covering Will and Tommy with OOZE. In the next scene outside of the HQ they are clean again. - B.Clinton(AJ)
  • Explanation: After the fight they didn't walk a minute to the Head Quarters - they weren't in any rush to get back, so what makes you think that enough time didn't pass for them to change clothes or at least dry off. - Ignite

• After Jay says, "Hey, old guys." everybody turns and stares at him except for the one guy who turns and stares a few seconds too early. (VHS) - mandie
  • Explanation: He did walk into the room - chances are at least one person is going to notice him and the others notice him when he shouts. - Ignite
