- Clarice's e-mail address is shown with "fbi.net".
Shouldn't that be "fbi.gov"?? -
Babs
- In the kitchen scene where Hannibal has
broken off the lock of the refrigerator, he
shuts Clarice's pony tail in with it. She
would have been stuck there...but she is able
to free herself to run after Hannibal. (Hair
still perfect) - Azwildcat
- Also, when she is looking at the boat in
the lake after freeing herself, she has no
handcuffs on her wrist. Hannibal cut his hand
off, so the cuffs would still be intact on
Clarice! We know nobody helped her get free
because they approached her in this scene
and told her to put her hands up (not knowing
who it was). - Azwildcat
- The time frame in the last sequence has
me mystified. I assume Hannibal was rescued
from the boars by Clarice around 8:00 p.m.
(Quoting Verger: "Dinner at 8")
This was down in Ashville, S.C., at Vergers
place. Do we assume Hannibal drives clear
back up to Krendler's weekend home on Chesapeake
Bay, operates on Clarice, cleans her up and
dresses her; cleans himself up and gets dressed;
starts preparing "dinner", plus
that "stuff" he does to Krendler
after he arrives, all by 8:45 p.m., according
to the big clock?? Sure, it COULD be the next
day, but I don't think he'd dope Clarice up
for 24 hours for the relatively minor wound.
And, how did he know that Krendler would be
there?? Oh, and one other minor thing: Clarice
said to Paul, earlier in the movie, "go
home to your wife", when he tried to
put the moves on her. But there is no evidence
of a wife. I know someone will say, "he
probably got a divorce", but it's still
goofy. - Babs
- In his printed letter to Clarice, Hannibal
signs off with "Regards, Hannibal Lecter,
M.D." In the voiceover, we hear, "Regards,
your pal, Hannibal Lecter."
- Also, Dr. Lecter signs M.D. very small on
the letter, but when Clarice is reading it,
M.D. is written very large.
- After Hannibal has removed the top of a
character's skull (I won't say who), the character
is seen raising and lowering his eyebrows.
If he had the top of his head removed, however,
his frontalis muscle would have been severed
and he would not have been able to move his
eyebrows. - Tracy
- One more item on the "kitchen scene"
at the end: Clarice goes after Hannibal with
both hands. He pushes her back against the
fridge and shuts her hair in it. They exchange
some dialog,he kisses her, and then you hear
the click of the handcuffs when Clarice snaps
them on Hannibals wrist. I can't help but
think you'd hear the click when she fastenens
them around her wrist, too. And where the
heck was she hiding them, anyway??? (DVD)
- Babs
- When they show the video of Dr Lecter attacking
the nurse, on the tape it says that video
was dated 2/07/88 ( it is shown on the actual
tape, and the upper left hand side of the
screen ). But in The Silence of the Lambs
when Dr. Chilton is telling Clarice about
it, he says that he did it on July 8th, 1987,
whoops! - Chubb's
- In some theatrical releases, there were
either technical problems or bad prints. In
the scene towards the end with Hannibal, Krendler,
and Starling in the kitchen, there were very
visible booms in the shot, as well as some
light rigs. May have been a problem with the
projectionist at the theater I saw it at (they
gave refunds), as it seemed like a framing
problem with an open matte. However, I heard
the same thing from a friend who saw it in
a different theater. (Theatre) - Blue
- (Continuity) Did anyone notice how (overly)
precise Julianne Moore's attempt at Agent
Starling's (West Virginian) accent was in
the very beginning of the movie and then quickly
faded away as the movie continued? - BudYzer
- (Continuity) In Silence of the Lambs, her
father was a local town police officer. In
this movie, Dr Lecter asks her about her father
the night watchman. Opps. - JT

Goofs
- In this film Clarice says that Mason Verger
is Hannibal's only victim to survive, but
in "Silence of the Lambs" the dude
in charge of the prison says the nurse who
Hannibal bit lived ("They were able to
reset her jaw.") - David
- Correction:
They said Mason Verger was the only survivor
from Hannibal's days as a doctor. - Da
King
- Comment:
Are you sure they said it was his
only victim who survived when he was
a Dr.? Not that I would ever see that
horrible movie again to make sure...
oh and how did Mason get into a wheelchair?
It was never explained. Bad storytelling
I guess. - David
- Comment:
David asks, why is mason
verger in a wheel chair? He blames
it on bad story telling but the
book tells how Hannibal broke
Mason's neck before (beware really
gross info) cutting off his (Mason's)
face and feeding it to Mason's
dogs. They don't say this in the
movie because it would probably
be too gross. - Paula
- What about
eating brain and hangin people
from while their intestines
are hanging out? That was
not gross enough to leave
out, so why would they left
out a dialogue about dogs
eating a face in this R rated
movie.

Goofs
- In Silence of the Lambs, it only took Lecter
a couple of seconds to open his handcuffs
with Dr. Chilton's pen; but in Hannibal he
had to cut off his hand, despite being in
a kitchen full of handy accessories and having
less pressure to act hastily. (That is if
he really does cut off his hand.) - Babs
- Comment: Hannibal
might not have been thinking about that.
He was in a hurry. Also could he reach?
- Da
King
- Comment:
Yes, when Hannibal and Clarice are
handcuffed together at the end of
the movie he is in quite a hurry to
get away. But the act of him cutting
off his own hand was a sign of "true
love" <<sigh>> (lol)
- UnSub
- Comment:
I think that he actually just cut
through the chain connecting the handcuffs
since he was pressed for time. And,
rather than waste precious time looking
for something to pick the lock, he
wore the sling to make it appear that
he had actually cut off his hand,
when really it was hiding the handcuff.
- Josie
- At the end of the movie, on the airplane,
Lecter has what appears to be some of Krendler's
brain in a little Tupperware container. When
did he have time to prepare that little snack?
He was in such a hurry to escape that he had
to cut his hand off... - Babs
- Comment: It's
not proved that that was his brain. -
Da
King
- At the beginning of the movie, when Clarice
goes to the male nurse's apartment, there
is a fan in the background. It seems to be
on, but in the next shot, he is shown putting
it on. - Janice
- Comment: The
wind is blowing the fan at the beginning.

Explained
Goofs
- As the convoy of FBI/police vehicles races
out to the house to rescue Clarice and Krendler,
what's the deal with the helicopter? I know
it's a very visually pretty picture, but why
does the helicopter have to keep pace with
the cars on the highway? Helicopters travel
faster than cars, get to go "as the crow
flies," and could have arrived sooner
at the house than all the agents in those
cars. - Kieth
Moreland
- Explanation:
I thought Kieth's point about the helicopter
was good, but a relative who's a police
officer told me that helicopters are sent
to provide monitoring, aerial lighting,
etc. They don't actually land. In this
case, the helicopter arriving before the
cruisers would have alerted Hannibal that
the police were on the way. - Babs
