- Forrest Gump reads the US Today magazine
in 1970. The newspaper did not begin publication
until 1982.
- While Gump is fishing he picks up a "Mello
Yello" can, which wasn't made at that
time.
- Forrest Gump claims that his beloved, Jenny,
died on a Saturday. But her tombstone shows
that she died March 22, 1982, which was a
Monday.
- It's the scene where Forrest goes to see
Jenny and meets little Forrest. When Forrest
and Jenny are talking, you can see an ironing
board behind her. In one shot, the iron is
down, but in the next shot, it's standing
up. - Lady~Macbeth
- Near the end of the movie when Forrest visits
Jenny, it is supposed to be July 4th, 1976.
On her TV is the New York Harbor Bicentennial
Celebration, and a shot of the Statue of Liberty
shows her with a "gold" torch, which
was added as part of her restoration in 1986.
- While playing football, Forrest outruns
everyone except the referee on the sidelines.

- When Young Forrest is trying to find a seat
on the bus, he talks to Young Jenny who has
offered him a seat next to her. As Young Forrest
is still standing and talking, the camera
flips from Jenny to behind Forrest and back.
While the camera is on Jenny a girl is sitting
behind her, when the camera is behind Forrest,
the girl is gone. When the camera goes back
to Jenny, the girl is back. - EllaBrown2007
- Forrest gets leg braces and can't run correctly.
Then, he is running with Jenny as if he doesn't
have braces. But when he is being chased by
the car, he runs incorrectly again. (DVD)

- (Factual errors) Little Forest had to be
like 4 to years old, but Forest ran after
jenny left for 3 to 6 years, how could he
impregnate Jenny if he was running for before
Little Forest was born. - TAZ
- (Continuity) When you see Forrest running from the bullies in the car, the car gets extremely close to Forrest. But when the camera shot switches the car is obviously further away from Forrest. -

- Anachronism: "Happy face/have a nice
day" too late in decade. "Shit happens"
too early/wrong decade. - mikestratz@aol.com
- Comment: Happy
face/shit happens: After those scenes
you hear Forrest say They "did"
come up with an idea. Meaning later and
not right there and then. - Ash
Corrected
Goofs
- Forrest receives his discharge papers, while
standing on a basketball court that has a
three point shot line, which was not introduced
until 1984.
- Correction: The
NBA added a 3-point shot in 1979 after
stealing it from the defunct ABA, which
debuted it in 1967 after stealing it from
the old ABL, which unveiled the 3-pointer
in 1961. - nightkey
- Taking place in 1963 a reporter talks about
videotape, although they used film at that
time.
- Correction: Although
videotape entered widespread usage in
the 1970s, it was developed in the mid
1950s, and many early TV shows were videotaped.
As a matter of fact, Sony Corporation
was among videotape's first marketers,
in 1955. - RevDrDark
- Forrest lives in Greenville, Alabama, but,
when he is running away from the people chasing
him, he runs across a football field where
Alabama is having practice, the University
of Alabama is in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and
Greenville, Alabama is a few hours away from
Tuscaloosa, so he would of have to run a really,
really long way to do that. - annierose
- Correction: Forrest
was from Greenbow, Alabama not Greenville.
Also, when he was being chased he ran
through a local high school football practice,
not an Alabama football practice. Bear
Bryant just happened to be there looking
at recruits and noticed how fast Forrest
was. If you think about it, later in the
movie the people of Greenbow gave him
a fine job of cutting the grass of that
very same football field. - NOTLOB22
