Debated Goofs - Commented Goofs - Corrected Goofs - Explained Goofs

  • In one scene, Banderas kicks a guy up into the air, and shoots him up. First of all his shirt goes from unbuttoned to buttoned again, and second, you can see the blood packets. - David
  • In one scene, a guy wearing a leather vest is shot in the shoulder. Later his vest is removed, and the wound is gone. - David
  • In one scene, when Banderas and Hayek are on a roof, you can see the shadow of the boom mike move up on a wall. - David
  • In the shootout near the end, a guy wearing a pink shirt and a jacket gets shot. But, when his jacket flies up, the wound is gone. - David
  • When the guy with the knives is stabbing the people in the car, you can see the camera crew's reflection in the sunroof window. - David
  • At the end of a big shoot out in the bar, the mariachi lifts up a dead characters head from off a table then drops him back down again. The dead guy reacts to the drop as if he were still conscious! - steel flesh
  • When the Mariachi is hiding behind the bar during the big shootout the shadow of the camera man is clearly visible. - David
  • In this same scene, the Mariachi has two pistols that are loaded, but in a shot a few seconds later the slides on the gun are back indicating he is out of bullets... but he didn't fire the guns between the two shots, so how did the guns become empty? - David
  • In this same scene Cheech is shot. Then the scene cuts to a wide shot of the area where he is shot (while the Mariachi is shooting with the bookkeeper) and Cheech's body is gone...that's fine, but in the next shot Cheech's body is there again. - David
  • In the last shootout, the shadow of the camera man is visible throughout. - David
  • When the Mariachi kicks the guy up in the air and shoots the sh-t out of him, there is a shot of Banderas firing his pistolas at the camera. If you watch in slow-mo, the power from the blank guns caused the matte-box on the camera to fall off and get in the frame. - David
  • (Audio/visual unsynchronised) When he throws the guitar case at the end no sound is made of it hitting the road. Happens in my video newayz. (VHS) - cris
  • (Revealing mistakes) In the very last scene, they drive back to pick up the case and mariachi grabs it no problem... except the truck they're in is like 3 feet off the ground. - Huge
  • (Continuity) In the bar shoot out, when Banderas shoots the ceiling fan that lands on the guy, the guy's hat falls off and he is clearly landing face first. When they show him next, he's flat on his back with his hat on and the fan hitting his face. (DVD/VHS) - Memnock
  • (Continuity) When Antonio left the Terasco Bar and Tonto runs behind him, you see Tonto with raised guns over Antonio's shoulder, in the next shot, he raises them. - Patrick

Corrected Goofs

  • The bartender in the film has a silenced 44 or 357 magnum revolver, but revolvers cannot have silencers because the sound comes from the hammer not the barrel. - David
    • Correction: The sound from a revolver does not come from the hammer, rather it comes from the area, known as the "headspace" between the cylinder (that holds the bullets) and the forcing cone (the bullet-end of the barrel). Frequently significant powder can come out there as well. Even so, it still lets noise out rendering the silencer useless. - Tom
