- In the hazing scene with the freshman girls
there is a red car in the background with
IROC style wheels which didn't come out until
the mid 80's. The movie is set in 1977. -

- In the scene, where Pickford is driving
down the road and Dawson is sitting next to
him in the front seat, if you watch the back
seat the position of the 2 guys changes. In
the first scene Slater-San is on the right
side and the other guy on the left but then
Slater moves to left and the other guy moves
to the right.
- Not sure if this is technically a "goof"
but it's pretty damn weird...There's a scene
during the party at the moontower where Wiley
Wiggins' character is talking to his sister
by a tree. The scene lasts about 30 seconds
and the whole time there are a couple of guys
in the background doing these weird slow motion
dances or something...please feel free to
correct me if you know what the hell is going
on. - Japhysun79
- When a bunch of the guys are cruising around
smashing mail boxes, they stop at a store
to make a "grab and go" for some
beer. When they get out of the car the entire
film crew is visible in the reflection of
the car. - Repassy
- When Ben Affleck gets the paint dumped on
him he is not covered in the front and in
the next shot he is covered in the front and
on his face more and when he goes in his car
to speed away he makes his tires peel off
IN THE GRASS. - Sirkie
- In the famous payback scene right after
they "paint O'Banion", Hurshfield
and the other guy hurry off the roof. If you
look at their shadows closely when they make
the first jump off the building, you'll see
the shadows are normal during the jump, but
when they land you'll notice that you can
still see the shadow of a foot, even though
you see both of them continue to make their
get away. This either means that Peter Pan
wasn't the only one to lose his shadow, or
else their stunt doubles didn't do a very
good job of hiding! (VHS) - Tad
- In the part where Pink, Pickford, Mitch,
and Dawson go mail box smashing. Pink puts
his hands out to grab the trash can and then
it shows Dawson picking it up and Pink throwing
it. (VHS) - lsd13
- At the party at the moontower, look in the
background to someone drunk and passing out
next to a car. A few scenes later, the same
guy is passing out again with everyone surrounding
him and nobody helping him up. - crazyJ
- During the freshman girls hazing, one of
the girls has to propose to Dawson. Notice
she is on here knees when she asks him, but
when he makes her open her mouth, she is sitting
down. Can that girl actually be that fast???
- crazyJ
- Anachronisms: When Mitch goes to purchase
beer at the convenience store, a Coke dispenser
with a logo first introduced in 1985 is visible.
- pickfords_girl
- Audio/visual unsynchronised: When driving
to the outdoor party Wooderson and Benny are
yelling at each other but the words don't
match their mouths. - pickfords_girl
- Audio/visual unsynchronised: When Don is
driving with Pickford and starts yelling at
the girls, his mouth doesn't match the words.
- pickfords_girl
- Crew or equipment visible: When Pink is
throwing trash cans out of the car you can
see the wire attached to the car from the
trailer it's riding on, also the tires aren't
moving. - pickfords_girl

Goofs
- For a movie that is set in 1976, there sure
is a lot of music from 1970-72. You would
think a film about high school teens would
include the music of that year, which was
that disco stuff, and not music that would
have been in their eighth grade year. Those
directors could have done themselves a huge
favor by setting the film back 4 years. -

- Comment: Ok,
as to the comment about the movie being
set in '76, yet playing a lot of music
from 72... Don't even tell me that you
never listen to an old cd. Most of the
music me and my friends listen to today
is not from the last few years. I may
be living right not in 2003, but I don't
listen to 'Nsync, Britney, Avril or Michelle
Branch, by far. I still listen to old
Pearl Jam and the fist of many bands albums
and... get this even music from the 70's...hello
30 years ago. Your comment does not matter.
Recheck the music you and others listen
to, I bet much of it is NOT too recent.
Look at the major bands of today, the
ones that concert-goers flock to and sell
out... Metallica (began in the 80's actually
late 70's), Pearl Jam, Red Hot Chili Peppers,
Snoop Dog... Also did it seem like any
of the characters in the film were interested
in disco music? What were the posters
in Pickford's room??? I remember Pink
Floyd in particular. And Wooderson was
going to get Aerosmith tickets... none
of which were disco bands. Re-watch the
film buddy. Now what would be incorrect
is if the movie contained music that came
out AFTER 1976... :-) The directors were
brilliant in choosing their music. - khidrock

Goofs
- When the 3 girls are talking about Gilligan's
Island you'll notice that one of them compares
Ginger to Madonna well if I'm right Madonna
was not even a singer back then how would
they have known her. - jonathanbooth
- Correction:
They do NOT compare MaryAnn to Madonna,
they compare her to "The Madonna".
Live the Virgin Mary. - tbonerocks
- During the girls hazing scene, Simone is
shown wearing black high heels. A few minutes
later she is shown wearing socks and tennis
shoes. - Isabelle
- Correction: Simone
is not wearing heels...that is Renee Zellweger...Later
you see her very clearly...I made that
mistake too. I just watched it. - anet_16
- Comment:
Renee Zelwegger is not in this movie.

- When Carl's mom pulls the shot gun, she
cocks it; seconds later, she cocks it again.
- Off My
Bach
- Correction: Carl's
mom only cocked the shotgun once, she
did not cock it when she first opened
the door. - TheMovieMan
