- In the end of the first movie, the honeymoon

but in the second movie it takes off where
the first left off, but it's magically now
1999!! - DrEvil
- When Austin, Felicity, and Mustafa are on

- In the scene when Austin and Evata are playing
chess austin spit out the chess piece

- The first film is set in 1997 at the end
it's supposed to be 3 months later, but the
second film carries straight after the first
and is set in 1999. - Jesus
- In the beginning of the movie when they
first show Austin he sees a movie on TV and
begins to rewind it. But if the movie
was on TV that wouldn't be possible! - kyara
- Not sure if this constitutes as an actual

cap has fallen completely over her face and
she's cracking up!! - jack
- In the scene where Austin and Evana are

- In the Electric Psychedelic Pussycat Swinger's
Club, Austin punches the man posing to be
a waitress. He's knocked unconcsious, falls
to the floor, and his hat falls off. Yet in
the next shot, the man's hat is still on,
and when Austin pulls off the hat, you can
see the hair and hat are one piece, so how
could the man's hat fall off without his hair
coming too? - Nate
- After Dr. Evil shoots the male waitress
in the back, it's obvious that he's dead.
But when Austin drops him to chase Dr. Evil,
you can see the man put his hands in front
of him so he won't hurt himself when he falls.

- When Dr. Evil sings the "Just the Two

- In the movie when Mrs. Shagwell goes and

- In the scene where Dr. Evil is demonstrating
the "death star" on the model earth,
the earth is continually changing positions.
In the beginning, the laser is pointed right
at the target. In the shots that follow, the
earth moves up, the target gets higher, while
laser points in the same spot. It keeps moving
back and forth. I hope you understand, cause
I just confused the hell out of myself! -
DoubleJ
- In the chase scene, Austin and the girl
are driving on the right side of the road!
But you drive on the left side in England.
Then they change lanes throughout the scene.
But you're never able to see them changing
lanes!!!! (DVD) - Justin
- When Dr. Evil and Minime go back in time
to the secret volcano lair, #2 says he got
Dr. Evil's memo from the future. How could
he when Dr. Evil didn't know there was a time
machine, and it wasn't operational then. (VHS)

- When Austin is going to go back in time
in the 60's beetle, he drives backwards into

goes to a different frame, but when it comes
back there's computers sitting on the shelf
again. (VHS) - Nik
- When Austin;s in the club, he pulls Robin

hideout lair is, he only asks him one time
and then says, "Do I really have to ask
you again?" and Mustafa says something
else and Felicity goes, "Ha, you have
to answer him." Then, he says that no
because it wasn't consecutive. Austin only
asked Mustafa the question one time, not twice
before the other question. (TV) - Kelly
- When Austin shoots Dr. Evil in his leg and
he falls, how come he can walk again. (TV)
- Aisha
- When Dr. Evil is explaining his "evil"
plan, he spins the model laser around the
model earth. While he is doing this the laser

- In the scene where Austin Powers is playing
chess with the Russian model Ivana Humpalot,
Austin starts to play with one of the chess
pieces and begins to choke on it. After he
coughs it up, it breaks one of the statues
in the room. In the next scene the broken
statue is behind him!!! - dancergurl
- At the Electric Psychedelic Pussycat Swingers
Club, we hear the song "American Woman."
But if the movie takes place in London then
why would the play AMERICAN woman? Also, if
the movie takes place in London, why do most
of the people there have American accents???
- MichaelMyers666
- American Woman is a good
song. It's played and has been played
all over the world - even in London is
suppose.
- The part where Austin and Evana are playing
chess Austin spits out the chess piece because
he's choking on it. If you look closely, you
can see the chess piece fall out of his mouth
on the ground in front of him and not even
make it 5 feet. But then it some how hits
the vase which is maybe 20 feet across the
room. Look closely, maybe put it in slow motion.
- rdiddy
- (Anachronisms) The movie takes place in
1969, but when they show Felicity Shagwell
they play American Woman which wasn't released
till 1970. - Enlightend1
Debated Goofs
- Fat Bastard starts Singing
"Chilis Baby Back ribs" song at
that moment it was 1969 that commercial didn't
come out until late 1990's. - Kurn
- Comment: Mike
Myers made no mention what so ever of
Chili's in the song. It was just a pun
that we would all recognize. So the year
it was made is irrelevant. - Empire
- Correction:
But he does, near the end of the song.
- chris64
- Correction:
Ok.... Fat Bastard is fat... but not too
fat to fit through the time portal (obviously
since he <spoiler> in the <ditto>).
So what does a fat bastard do when he
travels to the future? He watch's TV and
sees that commercial. Also.. Mike Myers
doesn't have to follow your silly rules,
because he's a comedian in a spoof movie.
- BigJon
- Comment: As
to Fat Bastard singing "chilis baby
back ribs" I don't think it was ever
clarified whether or not he was from the
1960's or 1990's. - Hitman
- Comment: In
regards to Fat Bastard singing the Chilis
song: If you notice in the movie he doesn't
use the plural form of the word so in
effect he sings, "Chili baby back
ribs..." Therefore not ripping off
a future commercial. - Morgaine
Le Fey
- Explanation: If
any of you have ever even watched a Mike
Myers interview on the 2nd Austin Powers
movie, you would have heard that Mike
didn't even expect to put that part in
the movie. He explained that on the morning
of filming that scene, he was just leaving
his house when he heard the TV play that
song, and it was stuck in his mind all
day. So when it came to that scene, he
threw it in there as a joke, and never
really intended it to stay in the movie;
but it did. He said that everyone got
such a kick out of it, that he decided
afterwards not to cut it. Hence why that
song is in the movie. - LadyLaraCroft
- In the first Austin Powers, Scott Evil is
19, but in the Spy Who Shagged Me, it's revealed
he is a love child from 1969. Wouldn't he
be 30 years old? - michael
daniels
- Correction:
Well, if you remember, in the first movie,
Dr. Evil was frozen and they were worried
about him never coming out so they created
a test tube baby. But in the second
movie when Dr. Evil goes back, he steals
Austin's mojo, and that's when Scott becomes
a love child. - Jenny
- Correction:
But if Scott was conceived in 1969,
then wouldnt he still be 30? If he
was conceived in 1969, and he was
still 19, then the he couldn't be
on the Jerry Springer show, cause
it would only be 1988, and I'm pretty
sure the Jerry Springer show wasn't
around then. - Jeremy
- Comment: The
whole Austin Powers movie is supposed
to confuse you, so the the question of
weather Scott would be 19 or 30, it may
just have been another one of those things
set to confuse you... (When Austin gets
into the beetle before going back to the
60's he asks the British intelligence
guy about how it could be possible and
the guy tells YOU not to worry about it)
- recycledsanity
- In the part where Austin and Felicity hold
a gun to Mufusa and ask him who sent him,
Mufusa can't answer unless they ask him three
times. Yet after the he answers, Felicity
asks him why he answered and he answers her
question right away. - kyara
- Correction:
Actually, I don't recall Mustafa saying
he couldn't answer a question asked only
once, just that he HAD to answer a question
if it was asked thrice. No goof in my
book. - Andrew
- Correction:
Felicity actually doesn't ASK Mustafa
why he didn't answer, she points out
that Austin has asked a third question
and that Mustafa must answer. Mustafa
rightly counters that Austin has really
only asked the same question twice
("Where is Dr. Evil's hidden
secret volcano lair?") and that
Austin's second question was the first
in a new line of questioning ("Do
I really have to ask you two more
times?"). And it is clear from
him immediate explanation in response
to Felicity's question that the 3-question
rule only applies to questions that
he does not want to answer. - djcookie96
- Comment:
I didn't mean the part at the
end when Felicity says he has
to answer, I talking after he
answered the the first set of
questions (Who sent you?) and
Felicity asked him why he answered
after three times. - kyara
- Comment:
Well actually, Mustafa only said
he can't stand to be asked the
same question 3 times. So, when
Felicity asked why he told them,
since that wouldn't be giving
out any big info, he simply answered.
(get it?) - paige

- When Powers and Shaggwell throw Mustafa
over the cliff and he begins to ask for help
the camera goes back to Austin when he smiles
you can clearly see that he has on fake teeth.

- When Austin and the girl (forget name) cross

that look like California's, but it's supposed

English countryside looks in no way like
California". So it really is intended
to look like it. - f

- Okay, this is a little confusing. If 1999
make a time machine in 1999 and have the ability
to go back to 1969, you couldn't go back in
time, because there was no time machine back
in 1969 to began with. So if he were to go
back in time he would go nowhere unless he
were to send a machine back in time with machine
and that is still impossible because where
would it go? - yellowsnow
- Comment: This
is partially covered by the comment from

it and enjoy yourself - that goes for
you all [audience members] too")

- At the very end of Austin's Intro celebration
scene. When he starts rising out of the water
on the platform, you can tell it was in reverse.
Because of Austin's suit being totally dry.

- Correction:
At the very end of Austin's intro celebration
scene, Casper said that the scene is reversed
because Austin's suit was dry. Well, that
WAS the effect they wished to achieve!
What he didn't notice, however, was that
the water sprinkling around him is going
in reverse! - bitoy
- In the first movie No. 2 is killed by Dr.Evil.
But at the beginning of the second movie he

- Comment: How
do we know that No. 2 was killed. They
never confirmed that. Maybe he was just
very badly burned. - Michelle
- Correction: Michelle
is right. No. 2 was just badly burned,
and YOU CAN SEE THAT IN THE FILM! In the
first scene where you can No. 2, the burned
skin on his right cheek is clearly visible!!!

- When Dr. Evil is confronting his son Scott
toward the beginning of the movie on the Jerry
Springer show, he explains to Scott that he
is "the diet coke of evil - just one
calorie-not evil enough" this has driven
me crazy for if you look at a diet coke label,
you can clearly tell there are no calories,
not one. The Pepsi One drink has one calorie,
so he should have said that or diet coke saying
no calories. - Kaitlyn
- Explanation:
Diet coke used to have one calorie, it
even had a jingle, "just one calorie,
just for the taste of it, Diet coke."
